So yesterday, I got the rare chance to visit my favorite local fabric store, People, Places and Quilts in Summerville, SC. Every time I visit it's like I'm a kid in a candy store - there's soooooo much fabulous fabric to look at - always something new - and the staff who work there are great because they're so helpful and knowledgeable.
I've also had the wonderful opportunity of leading demonstrations there on various sewing projects for both adults and kids. I'm gearing up to do more this coming year so I'll be sure to keep you posted! Most demonstrations are free and there's always a wide variety of projects to choose from - just make sure you check the schedule often and sign up in advance because they fill up fast!
Ok so, back to my visit - my mission was to find some yummy new fabrics to make some fabric journal covers as well as tote bags for my Etsy shop.
After much self restraint, I ended up bringing home seven Fat Quarters. the striped purple and red is a Kaffe Fassett print which I love for it's modern yet organic feel - the solid colors are soft linen also from Kaffe and the remaining prints are from a line by Helen Dardik called Too Mucherry - which is on sale right now at Hawthornethreads.com! I may just have to pick up more - hee hee.
Anyway...I'm very happy with my picks- in fact I've already used four of them for my journal covers which should be posted to my shop by this Friday if not sooner.
So if you're ever in Summerville, South Carolina be sure to visit PPQ!
