So this weekend, Saturday May 12th, I will be hosting some make-n-take demonstrations and a sewing class at a local quilt shop called People, Places and Quilts - in Summerville. It's the perfect chance to say "Hey Mom! Look what I made just for you!". I don't know about you - but I think the best gifts are the ones made with love.
The first demonstration is for 'Yo-Yo Button Flowers'. Students will learn how to make a fabric Yo-Yo and create a cute little bouquet using, buttons, thin gauge wire and an empty thread spool.
The second demonstration is a Flower Pin Card. Students will create a beautiful flower broach using fabric and embroidery floss. The pin is then attached to a card that you can give to Mom - who know's maybe she'll even wear it to brunch and we all know how much Mom loves to brag. ;-)
These demos are free to attend and there is a small cost of $5.00 for the kit due at the time of class. Each one lasts an hour and not only do you learn a new skill but you leave with a finished project!
The last class is a Quilted Make-up Bag sewing class. This is a great class for intermediate sewers who have either wanted to learn more about machine quilting or tackling those tricky zippers. The cost is $12.50 and materials are not included but I promise - once you learn to make one - you'll want to make more for all the beauties in your life!
To find out how to sign up you can visit my Classes Page here. I hope you'll come out and join us for one or all of them.
See you there!
P.S. Visit my 'Tutorials' page for a free tutorial on the Quilted Make-up Bag. Tutorials on the other two projects coming soon - so be sure to check back. :-)
